Vassar Haiti Project was a fundamental part of my Vassar experience. The group of individuals that made up this organization were some of the most supportive, generous, and passionate people I have ever met, and I feel so incredibly lucky to have known them in my life. VHP gave me the opportunity to develop skills and passions beyond the classroom, and allowed me to do so with purpose and creativity. Without VHP, it is quite possible I would have abandoned my interest in graphic design and art. Through my experience with VHP, I learned not only lessons in leadership and problem-solving, but in patience and empathy as well. The courageous stories of those in Haiti and the compassionate work of VHP continues to inspire me, and demonstrates to me the power of a community brought together for a greater cause. I have no doubt that VHP will continue to influence and help in my life and work beyond Vassar.
