The Vassar Haiti Project has taught me the important skill of gaining perspective. Before the Haiti Project, I was unsure about how to balance the macro with the micro, how to speak to people's listening, and most importantly how to calibrate my approach to best fit a problem at work. Now, when I enter a room, I can assess for myself the best way to present my case; during a presentation, I can highlight and guide my audience into matters that relate to them the most; in a meeting with my peers, I can pick which battles are worth fighting for; and as I plan for the future, I can ground my long-term ideas into the realities of the day-to-day grind. I truly believe that Vassar Haiti Project prepares you for any opportunity that requires mission-driven team work. The learning here is invaluable--it's a gift that keeps on giving!
